It started with an impulse. My best friend wanted a Chihuahua...I HATED Chihuahuas, I’m a German Shepherd person!….my mom had one when I was a kid...yippy, snappy things! Well, my friend got her Chihuahua, without doing her research. Gidget was 10 weeks old. Weighed a whopping 13 oz and had been through 4 states and “owners” in her short life. Keeping Gidget alive cost about $1,000 the first month. So we did our homework, we started studying and talking to breeders at shows. I found out what a loyal, loving, courageous companion the Chihuahua is. I have been hooked ever since.
My name is Gina Harper. My best friend April Martin and I started Rumorville Chihuahuas. We wanted to try to get our kennel and breeding program off the ground and decided it would be easier to do it together. After getting our feet firmly on the ground, we became Rumor and SweetLei Chihuahuas. You can find a link to SweetLei on our “Links” page. All of our dogs are first and foremost, members of our family. Raised in our houses with our children as part of our families. My daughters Danielle, Haleigh and Katlyn are starting their Junior Handling careers, and we have even decided to take a stab at obedience!
We do very limited breeding, but do occasionally have a pet or show quality Chihuahua available to the right home. |
